Chapter 1175: Skipping

After Nefarian and Rend began working together, they also attracted new forces to join them, for example, the Troll tribes, Spider monsters, Smolderthorn Trolls and the Firebrand Legion. They also kept their army of Wolfriders.

A portion of the old Horde faction had gathered in this dungeon.

Lu Li clicked on Nightmare mode like usual and stepped into the dungeon under the shocked gaze of the other players.

If he was by himself, Lu Li might choose to hide his tracks, but now that there were fifteen of them, there was no way to conceal themselves. There was no reason to not head straight for the entrance. On the way, even players from the opposing faction scurried away.

Right now, Ruling Sword wasn’t something that an ordinary player could afford to upset.

In Lu Li’s previous life, he had crossed a few major guilds. Even just some simple assassinations were enough to almost make him quit the game. Now, the tides had turned for him.

If he wanted to hunt down an average player, he didn’t even need to do it himself. He could easily make the game much more difficult for them.

They entered the Blackrock Spire under the eye of the public, so it was only natural that this news quickly reached all the major clubs.

The dungeon was split into a top and bottom level, with the bottom level being easier. However, none of the guilds agreed with how Lu Li viewed the dungeon. If bottom level was ‘easy’, then there was simply no point in attempting the top floor at all.

The path for bottom level of Blackrock Spire wasn’t very long, but it was filled with Bosses and the loots was quite worthwhile. If they were all level 59 or even 60 players, then a ten-man team could finish the dungeon within a few hours. Of course, for a team like Lu Li’s, where everyone was around level 56 and 57, it was best to have fifteen people.

There were quite a few quests available for this dungeon. Some could be activated while others remained hidden. Regardless, everyone tried their best to obtain all the quests that they could.

The bottom level of the Blackrock Spire was like a maze and could be split into three levels based on height. When you entered the dungeon, you would be at the middle level, which opened up to a large area you could jump down to reach the lower level.

Because of all the guides that Lu Li had read in the past, he was familiar with multiple different paths for this dungeon, each with their own pros and cons. No matter how you chose to run this dungeon, you would have to jump to the lowest floor from the middle floor at some point, because the other end of the middle floor could only be reached through the lowest floor.

Different paths meant different monsters, and once you jumped down, you wouldn’t be able to return. However, you could keep travelling upwards towards the top floor, then jump down from the top floor and back to the middle flor.

One major problem for this dungeon was that Warlock pets and Hunter pets couldn’t jump. As such, if anyone forgot to send their pet away, they would wander around in a huge circle, collecting all the monsters along the way while eventually reaching you at last.

In these kinds of situations, you would often see a Hunter play dumb, or a Warlock cursing...

As for the rest of the team, they might choose to kill their silly teammate. If they were feeling nicer, they might even let them choose their own way of dying.

After they entered, they were faced with two Tauren sentries.

There were plenty of strong monsters in Dawn that were tougher than Bosses, but these two sentries clearly didn’t belong in that category.

After a round of skills, the two Tauren sentries were sent to the System for a refresh.

They left behind some fabric, which was actually quite valuable. As their levels increased, the amount of fabric requried for tailoring also increased. Many quests also often used fabrics as quest items, but usually only humanoid monsters dropped these items. Hence, fabrics had always been popular on the market.

When they reached to the top of a giant lava hole, Lu Li pointed at a stand below and said, “Let’s jump off from here. March, give me and Sesame Rice Ball Levitate. Moonlight, catch us. Everyone else, follow one-by-one.”

“Wait, don’t we take that path if we’re going to the first Boss?” Azure Sea Breeze asked in confusion.

Although he had no clue about the progress of other guilds in this dungeon, some preliminary guides had already begun to appear on the internet. Th

Some of them were written show off, while others were scams that forced people to pay to watch the video. With a decent number of viewers, this was a reasonable income.

Azure Sea Breeze seemed to be one of these people who took the bait. Ten silver coins weren’t much to him anyway.

“Who told you we’re doing the first Boss?”

Lu Li found this to be laughable. He estimated that there were probably no guilds who could take down the first boss, Highlord Omokk, at this time, neither did he think that Azure Sea Breeze would be able to tank it at this stage.

Omokk governed the Trolls in the spire. Many of his subordinates had suggested to fight him one-on-one, in the hopes of taking his Highlord title. However, all of them lost. There were no exceptions – none of them could even touch him. This led to some mysterious rumors and some even claimed that a higher presence was protecting Omokk.

Omokk was a Boss that needed to be killed. Many quests from the Blackrock Spire bottom level were tied to him, even those that gave players the key to the top level of Blackrock Spire.

If they continued ahead, they wouldn’t be able to go around Omokk. With the usual way of thinking, players would think that they would have to take down Highlord Omokk first.

Omokk had no special skills, not even an Ultimate skill. Most of the time, he just auto-attacked any player that that gained his aggression. The results were expected. If he was easy to defeat, none of the guilds would be trapped here.

What was sad was that when the average players came into the Blackrock Spire, they weren’t thinking of taking the First Clear. They just wanted to kill a few Bosses for some equipment.

Now that they were all trapped here by Omokk, all hope had been lost. Some guilds had given up continuing the dungeon for now; it was better to use this time on levelling. Glory Capital was a good example; they didn’t even send a single elite team for this dungeon.

“You want to use Levitate to reach the stand on the opposite end?” Moonlight asked incredulously as he shook his head. “That’s impossible!”

The Levitation skill of Priests only lessened a target’s weight, which reduced the landing speed and reduced the damage they would take upon landing. There were other similar spells and potions that had the same effect.

“Of course, we can’t do it in one go, but we can do it in two tries. The important thing is to get Sesame Rice Ball there first. Then, we’ll just send over another two and that’ll be enough,” Lu Li said.

“What do you mean two tries?” Azure Sea Breeze was confused.

“Do you see that bump there?” Lu Li asked as he poked out his body and pointed at the cliff on top of the lava. From his angle, there was a small bump indeed on the cliff walls, a tiny one that could barely hold a person.

“You mean, to use that landing spot to change your direction?” Moonlight thought for a bit and realized that it wasn’t all that impossible.

“How many times do you have to die to get there?” Azure Sea Breeze believed that Lu Li had gone mad.
